2015 Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival: Lineup and Guests

Lisbon, Portugal (21st October, 2015) – The 2015 Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival (LEFFEST) has announced its full programme along with this year’s guests and special events to be held between 6th and 15th November in Lisbon and Estoril.

We are proud to announce that headlining this year’s festival will be acclaimed filmmakers such as WIM WENDERS, BARBET SCHROEDER, HANS-JÜRGEN SYBERBERG, JONATHAN DEMME and DAVID GORDON GREEN, to whom we will devote the Retrospectives and Homages section, as well as NABIL AYOUCH, SARA DRIVER and MARTÍN REJTMAN, with their presence.

Attending the festival to present their newest features will be NANNI MORETTI (Mia Madre), LAURIE ANDERSON (Heart of a Dog), AMOS GITAI (Rabin, the Last Day), BENOÎT JACQUOT (Dairy of a Chambermaid), OTAR IOSSELIANI (Chant d’Hiver) LOUIS GARREL (Les Deux Amis), amongst many others. The audience will also have to chance to attend unique masterclasses and cinema lessons with directors, like the one to be held by ELIA SULEIMAN.

LEFFEST being a privileged meeting point to celebrate the marriage between cinema and other arts, we are thrilled to announce that DON DELILLO, JUAN GOYTISOLO, JOHN BERGER and other prominent writers and authors will be featured at this year’s festival events, such as talks, readings and exhibitions.

The festival will be hosting the show Eternal, by New York-based director DANIEL FISH, based on one scene of Michel Gondry’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

LEFFEST will be welcoming outstanding personalities such as actors BRUNO GANZ, MATTHIEU AMALRIC, LAETITIA CASTA and JOAQUIM DE ALMEIDA, singer YASMINE HAMDAN or pianist PIOTR ANDERSZEWSKI.

The Official Competition jury will be made up of key figures of the arts and culture such as SABINE AZÉMA (actress); JESSICA HAUSNER (director); ANDREI A. TARKOVSKY (chairman of Andrei Tarkovsky International Institute); CÉDRIC VILLANI (mathematician, Fields Medal); ITAMAR GOLAN (pianist) and PEDRO GADANHO (architect).

The 2015 selection includes around 140 feature-length titles, including 13 films in competition.
